宾语从句的分类

一．作动词的宾语从句：

如：Everyone knows that he is a good student.

    (wonder=want to know; don’t know)

   He wondered how the pyramids were built. 

课堂例句：

1、ancient people, ancestor古人告诉我们：知人知面不知心。

Ancient people told us that you might know people long but didn’t know about their nature.

Ancient people told us that you might know people long without knowing about their nature.

Ancient people told us that men couldn’t judge books only by their covers. 

2、人人必须记住：和（harmony）为贵(uphold)。

Everyone must remember that harmony should be upheld. 

二．作介词宾语：

   (for me)

如：This depends on how hard you work.

Is there anything wrong in what I said?

I’m interested in what you do.

课堂例句： 

1、你同意他说的吗？

Do you agree to what he said?

2、我对那些不开口讲英语的人很生气。

I’m angry with those who don’t speak English.（宾语+定语从句）

3、凡是能赚钱的，我都感兴趣。

I’m interested in what can make money.

4、成功的关键取决于你能否克服困难(overcome difficulties)。

The key of success depends on whether you can overcome difficulties.  

三．作形容词的宾语：

如：They are confident that they can do the job well.

    （系+表=谓）

I am not certain whether the train will arrive on time.

练习：

1、恐怕，我不能帮你。I’m afraid that I can’t help you.

2、我敢肯定你们这次一定赢。I’m sure that you’ll win this time.

3、把知识转化(turn…into….)为生产力(productivity)，我们是自信的。

We are confident that we can turn knowledge into productivity.

4、他是一个什么样的人，我们心知肚明。

We are certain what a man he is.
